BrainFITT was born from love, science, and the belief that every person deserves to feel strong, sharp, and seen — no matter their age or cognitive stage.
I created BrainFITT for my mom, who lives with vascular dementia. I wanted to give her more than just care — I wanted to give her a chance:
As a Practicing Kinesiologist and Personal Trainer, I already understood the power of movement. But when dementia touched my family, I knew I needed to go deeper.
That’s why I am now advancing my education in Brain Health Training through Ryan Glatt, Director of the FitBrain Program at the Pacific Neuroscience Institute, earning my Functional Aging Specialist certification from the Functional Aging Institute, studying Applied Neuroscience through Z-Health Performance Solutions, and completing the Neurological Rehabilitation Microcredential at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.
I didn’t build BrainFITT as a business—I built it as a solution.
A solution for my mom, for families like mine, and for anyone who wants to stay strong, sharp, and independent as they age.

Hi, I’m Kim Shepherd — a movement nerd, brain health advocate, and daughter to the most inspiring woman I know.
With over 20 years of experience as a Personal Trainer — and nearly a decade as a Practicing Kinesiologist — I’ve helped people move better, feel stronger, and live fuller lives. In this time, I launched a pre- and postnatal fitness business, which I later expanded into a focus on women’s health and pelvic health across the lifespan. I’ve also worked extensively at a private health club — including supporting clients with joint replacements, chronic pain, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and age-related changes.
Through these experiences, I’ve had the privilege of guiding people of all ages and stages—from new moms rebuilding core strength and navigating pelvic health concerns, to older adults improving mobility, balance & stability, and adapting to memory changes with compassion and confidence.
What all those years taught me is simple but powerful: movement is medicine. And now, through BrainFITT, I bring that same expertise to brain health and aging — helping people stay strong, sharp, and independent through programs that blend compassion with cutting-edge science.
BrainFITT isn’t just my work — it’s my heart project. And I’m so glad you’re here.
BrainFITT blends neuroscience, movement, and aging expertise into programs that support memory, coordination, and confidence.
